The class boat is now ready to be loaned out.
We need to look to the future of the class and the new blood that can be welcomed into the Osprey family. The details (application form and loan agreement form) on how to acquire the boat for a defined period are now available. The forms can be filled in electronically, but with Google Chrome browser when you save a completed form it does not save the information you have entered. This is not much good. So on Microsoft Windows systems, download document and open with either Adobe Acrobat Reader or Microsoft Edge browser.
The Osprey Class Committee are actively looking for the first crew to take her on and join us. If you know of a suitable crew then get in touch with your committee members or local Osprey representatives.

1972 National Championship Reports
Day reports from Daily Telegraph
In Ideal conditions in Plymouth Sound, Mike Corbin of Lymington Town SC in Lucky Star made the best of a steady Force Three breeze to lead the 108 entrants from start to finish to win the first race of the National Osprey Championships.
James Curnow, sailing Pieces of Eight, finished the first beat from a crowded gate start in 15th position but progressed steadily, picking up several places on each round to finish second.
There was a hard struggle between two former national champions, John Matthews and Ken Robertson for third place. Matthews just squeezing past on the final beat. Mounts Bay SC this took three of the first four-places.
The following are 3 videos of Ospreys sailing that have been found on YouTube. If there are others you think should be added then please let class know.
Note – The practice race on Sunday 15th August for the Plycraft Trophy was not sailed due to strong winds
Day reports by Frank Chapman
Unabashed and almost reveling in extraordinary windshifts, Alf Hawksworth and David Mager in Rampant Lady won the first points race in The National Championships at Filey.
They finished 30 minutes ahead of Hugh Carter in Chaotic, the wind dropping to almost negligble proportions when they crossed the lineafter 3½-4 hour sail during which the windat first veered 90 degrees and later went round 180 degrees.
The following report appeared in The Cornishman newspaper dated Thursday August 20th 1970
An exciting finale to the Osprey National Championships in Mounts Bay on Friday retained the title for the local club. John Matthews, sailing the Hon. John St. Aubyn’s boat The Susan, with Ray Jebbett as crew, won the trophy after a tremendous battle with his rival, Ken Robertson.
At the start of this final day, with one points race to come Matthews – winner in ‘68 – led by a quarter point on the overall ratings from the current champion Robertson of Wadebridge.
