Inland Championship - Carsington SC preceeded by Training Day

The Inland Championship, Carsington Open and Wilkinson Sword Series event will take place on Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th June.

Training day on Friday 28th June at Carsington SC is the only free class association run training day planned this year. So well worth joining in with highly experienced coach Adam Bowers. Adam is a former Osprey National Champion as well as a noted coach in many other classes.

2019 UK National Championship

The 2019 Osprey National Championships will be held at Mounts Bay Sailing Club, Marazion, Cornwall over 4 days from Sunday 4th August to Wednesday 7th August, with 10 races to be scheduled; 2 on Sunday & Wednesday and 3 races on each of the other two days.

The event will be shared with the Enterprise Class which will increase the number of people attending and provide an opportunity for bigger social events and some inter-class interaction.

?Irish Excursion 2020

Anyone fancy a European event in 2020? Next year the Royal Cork Yacht Club in Crosshaven in the Republic of Ireland is celebrating its 300th anniversary with a number of events through the summer. If we are interested the Club are minded to invite us to an Osprey event (to a format that suits us) on the week commencing 2nd August in parallel with the National 18 Class Championships.

I am not yet sure if we would be able to align the dates so that this does not detract from our National Championships at Castle Cove, but if there is sufficient interest we can look at possibilities.

Getting there would involve a ferry from South Wales probably to Rosslare and around 130 mile drive in Ireland, but from what I have heard the hospitality at the Royal Cork Yacht Club is excellent and I know from experience that these National 18 sailors know how to party.

If you are interested please get in touch.

Thanks, David

Events Calendar

Shoreham SC will host the next Osprey WS open, on July 28/29. Remember this will be the last open before the Nationals, so is an ideal time to make sure your boat is up to speed, and that you are ready for some fleet racing in open sea conditions.

The event will be joint with a Merlin open, and Osprey afficianados John and Caz Mills look forward to welcoming you.

Shoreham SC will be pleased to show off to competitors their brand new concrete slipway that should accommodate two boats launching/ coming ashore at a time.

First race Saturday will be at 2pm, and three races will be provided each day.

Breakfasts will be available on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and the culinary highlight will be the Hog Roast on Saturday evening with plenty of beer. There will be sandwiches/ rolls available for lunch with tea and coffee.

There is some camping but it will be limited and on a first come first served basis.  People can arrive Friday, and any who wish to do so should contact This email address is being protected from spambots.
